Project Overview

Since its inception, Luas has been an attractive, convenient, and sustainable mode of transport for citizens and visitors from all walks of life. It has contributed to an integrated transport network through its ability to seamless connections with other modes, including road transport, heavy rail, bus, and active travel.

TII’s Vision for Luas 2050

Luas is at the heart of a long-term transport network for the wider Dublin region. It is a key element of the Government National Development Plan and the NTA’s Greater Dublin Area Transport Strategy.

TII currently has several Luas projects in the planning phase. Luas Finglas and Luas Lucan will deliver 16.5km of new track and 20 new stops. TII is also investigating an emerging preferred route for Luas Cork.
